Amber has some amazing pictures of olivia on her blog, She is so photogenic and loves to have her picture taken. I was really impressed with these shots.
Veterans Day: “Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed on November 11. However, if it occurs on a Sunday then the following Monday is designated for holiday leave, and if it occurs Saturday then either Saturday or Friday may be so designated.[1] It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)”
Today is veterans day, first and foremost I would like to thank all active duty service members for what they do to keep this country safe.
I always like to take today to thank all Veterans and a few in particular. Firstly I would like to thank my two grandpa’s for their service in Europe during World War 2. I would also like to thank my father for his service in Viet Nam and my Nephew for his service in the first Gulf War. I served in a time of Relative peace and never saw combat, I was ready my number just wasn’t called up.
Take a few minutes and thank a Veteran today, go to a nursing home or a local hospital, call the local news station and leave a message or go to any veterans organization and spend a few minutes.
When I picked up Olivia today for our day together I asked Amber if she would mind switching cameras for the day, Possibly trading for good, I really like her little Kodak Easyshare it is small and fits in my pocket and I get really good up close pictures of Olivia with it.
Olivia is taking a nap right now but before I put her down to sleep I took a few pictures and uploaded them to a new Flickr gallery to see if I could see much difference between my Fujifilm Finepix and her Easyshare. The only noticeable difference I could see is in the distance shot. the Fuji seems to handle those better as long as I do the editing on my computer and not from within the camera.
I created the Polaroid effect with Poladroid it is a fun image editor that does one thing, turns your pictures into a polaroid. I really like it. I added the text, resized it and rotated it using Imagewell there is probably an easier way of doing things than using two different programs but I am unable to figure it out.
I put a Canon sureshot on layaway at Bestbuy so if we trade cameras I think it will be nice to have a small camera for casual shots and the Canon for other stuff.

- Spotlight search results not showing Exchange contacts
- a problem that prevented authenticating as an administrative user
- issues when using NTFS and WebDAV file servers
- the reliability of menu extras
- an issue with the 4-finger swipe gesture
- an issue that causes Mail to quit unexpectedly when setting up an Exchange server
- Address Book becoming unresponsive when editing
- a problem adding images to contacts in Address Book
- an issue that prevented opening files downloaded from the Internet
- Safari plug-in reliability
- general reliability improvements for iWork, iLife, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, MobileMe, and iDisk

This would have been a great App. One touch access to email or call one of our elected officials. After this recent weekend midnight vote passing the healthcare plan that nobody understands or has read from either party or either extreme I am sure I am not the only one wanting to talk to a few of our paid Representatives.
Apple seems to have to logic to the Apps the deny and what they approve.
Apple’s iPhone Developer Program has rejected an app that allows people to contact their elected U.S. senators and representatives because the app “ridicules public figures,” according to a rejection letter posted by the artist.

Riehl World View: Obama: No Military Death Shall Go Unexploited: “Despicable. Did Obama make a late night trip to view military bodies from Afghanistan so that he could invoke it in pitching health care to his fellow Democrats? But Fort Hood intervened for an even deeper impact? Yes, with this one, I will always question the timing, I’m afraid. What a disgraceful, unworthy comparison the Democrats sopped right up……”
I am really beginning to think this guy works with me or has a hidden camera and/or microphone in our department. It freaks me out that Therapist’ from differing parts of the country have to deal with such similar situations as we do here in small town Texas. The joke in our department is when I clock in sometimes I will throw out a “Welcome to 1980, ain’t it grand.” it is sad but we are so far behind the curve here that it is scary. We have an eclectic mix of therapist here, too old, too new, too rigid and the good ol’ Don’t give a shit. works against the department and doesn’t help us to work towards an evidence based practice, which I think JCAHO requires but we never seem to get dinged on, Oh,well life goes on.
Wonderful article, go over and read the whole thing.
The Fort Hood, TX., shooting spree yesterday by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is disturbing. He had duties as a psychiatrist to help treat soldiers returning from combat with P.T.S.D. and it’s being reported that he shouted “Allahu Akhbar” (phrase meaning “Allah is great” in Arabic) as he opened fire on returning soldiers assembled from combat duties in the middle east.
The commander-in-chief was being constantly briefed on the shooting situation and stated “Let’s not jump to any conclusions” during publicized remarks in the wake of the shooting. This from the same person who said a couple months ago that police in MA., were “stupid” for arresting a Black college professor – who was a personal friend – and was thought to be breaking into a home?! The contradiction is disturbing.
